This has been the mildest winter EVER, and while most of us are rather happy with it, it has been pretty difficult planning sessions requiring snow! And I adore snowy sessions! I have made it a ritual to find a brave bride each year to endure the cold and partake in a marvelous, snowy bridal session. This time around, I wanted to create a full day event out of it, and these 3 girls were definitely the bravest of the brave. Thank you so much to my models, Ali, Teena, & T’Neil; you’ve earned a KLP gold star
Welcome to the Kristin La Voie Photography blog! My name is Kristin and I am the storyteller, artist, and creative eye behind KLP. I love the show Friends and laugh at every episode even though I've seen it 100 times. I have a hard time refusing cheese. I have trained our adorable doggy Toby to love being in front of the camera (don't be fooled by his frown in costumes and clothing, he loves it!) and you may often see photos of him when I feel like trying out new equipment.
Take a moment to browse the love stories, ramblings, and eye candy on the blog, and make sure to "like" us on Facebook!
All the best,
Kristin
Port Barrington IL Bridal Session
Best of 2011
When the new year began, I was thinking of all the amazing people I met, memories I captured, and friends I’ve made from 2011. I can’t help but feel like the luckiest girl in the world. Who would’ve thought a little far fetched dream of mine would actually become a reality? I mean getting paid to do what you love, make your own rules, live on your own terms… who gets to do that?! >>THIS GIRL<<
I’ve seen couples marry and start a family. Babies grown into walking and talking children. Wedding dreams come to life. Teenagers become adults. I have traveled to places near and far. I never knew Illinois suburbs could be so COOL! I never knew what paradise looked like.
Thank you to all new and old clients, friends, and supporters. 2012 has all the signs of being an amazing year, even better than 2011. I didn’t think it could be possible, but it IS. And all signs point to 2013 being bigger and better.
And now here’s just a little eye candy from a favorite of mine from 2011
Dina & Skyler’s Engagement Session
Dina & Skyler are not only an extremely adorable couple, but they were open for anything. We waited awhile for some snow on the ground to get the romantic look around downtown Long Grove, the perfect location for Dina’s vision. We got super lucky with the tiny snowfall just the night before. Whew!
Walking through this old historic area, which has recently become a ghost town, we popped into the old Village Tavern to grab a few warm drinks (we also got a few odd looks!) Afterwards, we grabbed their excited doggy Aleigh for some family shots, and she was so excited she could barely contain herself!
Totally looking forward to your September wedding! Please tell Aleigh I say hello!
